The wild garden, now mostly sticks and shriveled leaves, sits under the first snow of winter. A few bright yellow leaves are all that is left of the bright autumn colors so recently seen. Pokeweed berry clusters, somewhat diminished by birds feeding on them, hang off of red, dying stems, and some burdock burs, now wearing a cap of snow, will probably not he hitching a ride.
