Welcome to my Wild Garden! Right now, you can come with me as I photograph the growing season of a small, neglected garden. In the future, I plan to add a photo gallery, a section on Tudor outfits, as well as a number of other things.

July 24th: Some Acts Ending, Some in Progress, and Some Beginning

The vetch displays its entire cycle. Seen here are new leaves, green  pods, dried pods and in the background the remnants of pods that have already shattered and thrown their mature seeds out to grow again.

This tender flower bud spike was a bit hard to identify. The surrounding leaves give the crucial hint. With my camera I have caught the very first development of a poke-weed berry cluster.

Shiny insects- can't resist them! Do you know what this insect is?

An early bloom of Queen Anne's Lace opens out to the summer sun.

Those two neat rosettes are starting to grow vertically. What can they be?

Spent fireworks weed shows a few last "sparks".
The black raspberry is still at it, as this green cluster shows,

The Scotch thistle is unmistakably getting ready to bloom!

the Poke weed is definitely in the berry business.

The poison ivy is definitely creeping.

Horse weed buds are getting ready to bloom.

This is what I called Ramifying Weed. It is calico aster, and is continuing to work on producing its flower heads.

A moth-colored butterfly is visiting the burdock.

The burdock is in full display
