Welcome to my Wild Garden! Right now, you can come with me as I photograph the growing season of a small, neglected garden. In the future, I plan to add a photo gallery, a section on Tudor outfits, as well as a number of other things.

August 24th: A Bit Seedy

The low three-vein's dimly glimpsed white flowers are fading.

The fireworks weed shows distinct seed development and perhaps one late spark of a flower on the end of one of the bloom stems.

Devil's beggartick continues to grow upward.

Beggartick close-up shows a tiny flower bud.

The smartweed is all closed up into tight pink buds, now most likely acting as seedpods.

The ragweed's canopied stamens are catching the wind to spread pollen, and misery.

Mugwort close-up shows spent stamens turned brown within their green bud scales.

Lambs-quarters buds...

...and leaves remain inconspicuous.

Hawkweed flowers bloom yellow while silky seedheads prepare to catch the wind.

Goldenrod seeds,...

...buds and flowers can be seen at this time.

A bee butt shows as the owner scrabbles to find the nectar at the base of this opening flower. Insect predation can be clearly seen.

A calico aster close-up displays a center nicely balanced between purple and yellow.

A young calico aster continues to ramify, even as others of the same are in full bloom.

Burdock burrs mature...

...while the rest of the plant begins to yellow.

Bindweed buds promise more flowers...

as the bindweed plant continues to overgrow the garden.

Here we see a bindweed climbing to discover new heights.
